Creating Memorable Guest Experiences Through Interpretation

Creating Memorable Guest Experiences through Interpretation

How can you engage your guests using interpretation and interpretive techniques, design, media and programming? Heritage interpretation is not language translation but a communication process that helps your guests to understand the story in the landscape, site or culture they are visiting - think walks, talks, tours and signage, art, messages. Learn how interpretation can benefit your visitors and you!

Reviews of the Course

This course is one of the best courses I did. Please can I have it on spanish language. I prefer to do it this course on that language.

- Giancarlo Gallegos Peralta, Innova Peru Consulting

In a very pleasant presentation I have learned that the meaning of things must be revealed to clients through their own perspectives! We learn what really matters to know when we study our clients and Chuck Lennox gives us very good/simple ideas and tricks that make guests never forget the experiences.
We have also references of documents if we want to investigate more about this.
Thank you TIES for this opportunity :)

- Teresa Larsson, Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas (Institute for Nature Conservation and Forestry

"I never knew about interpretation within the field of tourism and now I can understand its importance. Interpretation provides a way for guests to really connect and understand the place that they are visiting. This course was very interesting and informative. Thank you!"

- Sam Iaquinto, Other

"Thanks Chuck. It was excellent. I was working as a tour operator in Nepal and worked as a tour guide briefly. Moreover in my postgraduate studies in the Master of International Sustainable Tourism Management at the Monash University in Melbourne, we had to do research on 'visitor interpretation analysis'. So I am pretty much aware of the role of interpretation to increase visitation and offer memorable experiences."

- P. Parajuli, Student

- Nicole Smith, Project Manager Tourism - Société de développement économique de la Colombie-Britannique

"Basic concepts about interpretation. Resources should be downloadable."

- Istef Landicho, Tourism Operations Officer II, Provincial Government of Batangas

-"Thanks for the suggestion Istef! Resources are now downloadable." TIES
